How to send a takedown notice

Use the form below, or email the agent. A valid notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name counts).
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. The exact address (URL) of each item on Genexts you want removed, so we can find it.
  4. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

Be careful: under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly says something is infringing when it isn't can be liable for damages.

What happens next

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, send the agent a counter-notice with: your signature; the removed material and where it was before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if you're outside the U.S., any judicial district where Genexts may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. Unless the complainant tells us within 10–14 business days that they've filed a court action, we may restore the material.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances.
